NHRA Event Recap from Seattle – Greg Anderson Almost Sweeps the Swing for a 2nd Time

Race Star Wheels

Greg Anderson almost made history (again) at the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle. Finding himself in the finals, once again, Anderson was poised to capture his second Western Swing sweep. Not only is he the only Pro Stock driver to ever sweep the swing, but he would have extended his legacy by being the only one to accomplish this feat two times.

However, he had a tough and hungry opponent in Matt Hartford. While Anderson just fell short of the win and the sweep, he has made a tremendous comeback over halfway into the season with back-to-back wins from Denver and Sonoma. After the race, Anderson said, “I felt the Gods were with me today, that the stars were aligned. I had great confidence that I could cut a light and great confidence in my car. I really felt I was going to win that race, but I didn’t. But that’s NHRA Pro Stock at its best right there. You just never know what’s going to happen.”

Before the next race at Brainerd, Anderson has time to reassess, rebound and come out strong. His red Summit Racing Equipment Chevrolet Camaro has been performing well paired with his performance on cutting good lights at the start line.
